Receiving and Inventory Clerk
At JC Davis Ventures, LLC dba JC Davis Power, we keep work moving with smart, reliable solutions that allow our people and our partners to stay safe, focused, and ahead. Powering a jobsite shouldn't be a hassle. But too often, crews are left waiting, equipment breaks down, vendors go dark, and deadlines slip.
We started JC Davis Power to fix all of that. We're a full-service jobsite operations partner, delivering and maintaining temporary power, climate control, and tower lighting. All with one reliable crew. No handoffs. No confusion.
We show up, solve problems, and do the work the right way. Whether you're supporting customers in the field, building systems behind the scenes, or helping drive the business forward, you'll be part of a team that values reliability, accountability, and getting the job done.
Simple - Reliable - Done Right!
The Role
Receiving here has grown into a job of its own, and you would own it.
Deliveries come into our headquarters yard all day. What you check in becomes the stock our technicians pull from. You count it, match it to the packing list, and put it where the crew can find it. Get it wrong and a technician is standing at an empty bin next week, holding a work order for a part the system says we have. There is always another delivery waiting. If the numbers do not match, it still gets flagged before anything goes on the shelf.
You will start on the physical side. Within a couple of months you will know Limble, our inventory system, well enough to enter receipts yourself and to cover for our Inventory Specialist when they are out.
What You'll Do
Receive every delivery. Take deliveries in, unload them, and inspect for damage or shortages before anything gets signed for.
Count and verify against the packing list. Match what physically arrived to what the packing list says, line by line, confirm quantities and part numbers, and get the verified list to our Inventory Specialist the same day so receipts never fall behind. The two of you will work hand in hand.
Put away and keep the parts area organized. Get parts to their proper location, keep bins labeled, and keep the parts and receiving areas clean, clear, and safe to work in.
Know where things are. Be the person technicians come to when they need to put hands on a part for a work order, including one-off and non-stock items that do not have a regular home on the shelf.
Help with cycle counts. Assist with counting sections of inventory on a regular schedule, help research what does not match, and get the record corrected.
Flag what does not match. Raise shortages, damage, wrong items, and count discrepancies to the right person the same day, while the delivery is still fresh.
Grow into Limble. Learn our system well enough to enter item receipts independently, pull PO information when a vendor does not send it, and cover receiving fully when our Inventory Specialist is out.
What We're Looking For
Accuracy with the basics. Able to read, write, and count reliably, and comfortable comparing numbers and part numbers without rushing past a mismatch.
Self-starting. You find the next thing that needs doing instead of waiting to be told.
A positive attitude. You bring good energy to the dock and stay steady when a heavy delivery day gets busy.
Team oriented. You look out for the crew, help when someone needs a part, and pitch in without being asked.
Dependable. You show up on time and finish what you start, because the shop is waiting on what you received.
Organized. You keep a system for what came in, what is still open, and what needs follow-up.
Basic computer skills. Able to learn Limble and enter receipts accurately.
Physical readiness. Able to lift and move parts, be on your feet for most of the shift, and work in a shop environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred
Experience in receiving, shipping, a parts counter, or a warehouse
Inventory experience
Forklift experience
Familiarity with generators, engines, or heavy equipment parts
Experience with Google Sheets or Excel
Experience with Limble or another inventory or maintenance system
