Simple - Reliable - Done Right!
The Role
The Field Maintenance Manager is the day-to-day leader of JC Davis Power’s field preventive maintenance team. Reporting to the Director of Field Maintenance, this role leads our Field PM Leads and Technicians and makes sure the work planned by the Field Maintenance Coordinator gets done safely, correctly, and on time across Central Texas, Dallas-Fort Worth, and the Panhandle. Planning and scheduling stay with the Coordinator, and strategy, policy, and staffing decisions stay with the Director. This role owns what happens in the field, and the crews and the quality of their work are a direct reflection of it.
What You'll Do
Crew leadership. Train, coach, and lead every Field PM Lead and Technician, holding each one accountable for safety, workmanship, attendance, and paperwork.
Maintenance execution. Ensure the PMs, inspections, and repairs the Field Maintenance Coordinator assigns get done on schedule, safely, and to our high standards.
Field oversight. Travel across Central Texas, Dallas-Fort Worth, and the Panhandle to support technicians and see the work firsthand. Work from the Elgin office when not traveling.
Quality and safety audits. Check work in the field, stop unsafe work, and require fixes when work falls short.
Coordination. Work with the Field Maintenance Coordinator and Operations on schedule changes, equipment availability, and field conditions.
Reliability reporting. Spot recurring failures, reliability issues, and manpower gaps. Own the fix in the field, and bring the Director the issues that truly need their call.
Readiness. Keep service trucks, tools, and equipment ready for the field.
On-call support. Respond 24/7 to urgent equipment failures and critical field situations.
